Hazardous Outlook For Lower, Mid Hudson Valley

The rain could get very heavy and that could mean flash flooding.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.

Showers and scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and early evening could produce locally heavy rain. The exact timing, duration, and areal extent of the heaviest rain are still uncertain, but as these factors come more into focus, short fused flash flood watches could be issued for parts of the area.

There is a chance of non severe thunderstorms today across the eastern Catskills, mid Hudson Valley, southern Berkshire County, Massachusetts and Litchfield County, Connecticut. Any thunderstorms will have the potential to produce locally heavy downpours which may cause urban, low-lying and poor drainage flooding.
