Hearing Officer Picked for Sullivan Hearing
The police chief faces disciplinary charges.

NEW CITY, NY - The Clarkstown Town Attorney’s office announced Friday that the Town Board will appoint former New York State Attorney General Dennis C. Vacco as the hearing officer in the police disciplinary matter of Michael Sullivan.
Vacco was elected to become New York State’s chief legal officer in 1994 and served for four years. From 1988-1993, Vacco was appointed by the President of the United States to serve as the United States Attorney for the Western District of New York. Prior to that, he served for 10 years as the Assistant District Attorney for Erie County.
Attorney General Vacco is currently a partner in the Litigation Practice Group of Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman, LLP.

The appointment is expected to be made at the board's Aug. 9 meeting.
