UPDATE: Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the hit-and-run that critically injured a New City man May 9, according to The Journal News.

Clarkstown Police are asking for assistance from the public in investigating a hit-and-run that critically injured a New City man at about 2 a.m. May 9.

The 47-year-old was struck while cycling on Old Rt. 304 in New City, in the area of Cypress Street, by a vehicle which was driving eastbound.
The man suffered a serious head injury, as well as serious injuries to his leg and torso. He is Nyack Hospital in critical condition, police said.

Debris and vehicle parts left at the scene indicate that the suspect vehicle was a black Jeep with a black grill, possibly a Grand Cherokee manufactured between the years of 2005-2007. Vehicle should exhibit front end damage to the grill area.
