Hoax Caller Calls School To Apologize Spurring Police Presence

Police said the extra police presence was an assurance to parents, students and staff.

NEW CITY, NY — There were concerns Tuesday that Felix V. Festa Middle School was under lockdown again. The Clarkstown Police Department that numerous police cars in the area of the school were due to the same hoax caller from Thursday who called the school to apologize.

Police said the caller did not make any threats to the school, and the school is not in danger.

The Clarkstown Central School District issued a statement to the community that said the school was not on lockdown and the students and staff were safe.
