Hudson Valley Forecast: Hazardous Outlooks Issued For Saturday
Here's what you can expect from a winter weather storm headed toward the Hudson Valley, forecasters say.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — It looks as if the snowstorm we're expecting Saturday will lead to at least a little accumulation. The National Weather Service has issued hazardous outlooks for Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster and Westchester counties.
For Dutchess and Ulster, a widespread moderate to possibly heavy snowfall is expected Saturday into Saturday night.
For south of I-84, the moderate snowfall predicted for Saturday afternoon and evening will end Saturday night with a changeover to rain.

The National Weather Service is predicting 4-6 inches of snow except at the Sound Shore. But Alex Marra and Bill Potter at Hudson Valley Weather think that 2-5 inches is nearer the mark.
"This storm looks faster, further north and weaker than originally projected, with less moisture. Factor all those things together… and this looks likely to be a light to moderate storm," they wrote.

On Saturday, snow should start falling at midday, forecasters agree. They also agree that it's going to get colder for the 3-day weekend.
