Hudson Valley Halloween Forecast: More Trick Than Treat
You may want to waterproof those costumes.

Meteorologists are updating the forecast for Halloween. It doesn't look good, but they're being cautiously hopeful that there will be a break Thursday evening in what will otherwise be a wet end to the work week.
"Halloween is looking rather spooky at the moment, with “trick or treat” possibly taking place on a ‘dark and stormy night,'" said Alex Marra and Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. "We can see a window where it’s warm and windy, with mainly cloudy skies… but dry. Then Thursday night, after the trick or treating is over… an arctic cold front with heavy rain and thunderstorms pushes through."
Plus, Accuweather warns, thunder and lightning may accompany the windswept rain in some locations, which will add to the spooky setting.

The NWS says:
By Wednesday night a complex frontal system will draw closer from the west. This will bring a steadier and heavier rainfall into the region during Thursday and Thursday night. The winds are expected to increase later Thursday into Thursday evening, especially closer to the coast. Drier conditions are expected to return to the region on Friday.
Still, the National Weather Service's hour-by-hour forecast as of Tuesday shows rain is less likely during the evening hours on Thursday.
