Jury Verdict For Rockland Man Who Shoved Pregnant Woman
The jury watched the video surveillance of the incident and heard the 911 call describing it.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — A Stony Point man who shoved a pregnant woman to the ground and violated an order of protection while doing so has been convicted by a jury of first degree criminal contempt.
Eric Tranholm was seen on surveillance video at the Budget Motor Inn in Stony Point on Aug. 25 "running up to the victim, throwing his hands over her from behind, and forcefully bringing her to the ground," Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II said in the announcement.
She was pregnant.

At the time, she had an order of protection against him, which had been issued on her behalf by the Spring Valley Justice Court.
Tranholm, 28, went to trial March 24. The jury watched the video surveillance of the incident at the hotel and listened to a 911 call describing it. After a brief deliberation, the jury returned a verdict and found him guilty as charged.

"The victim in this case, and her unborn child, could have been seriously injured by the defendant's actions," Walsh said. " I commend the officers from the Stony Point Police Department for their professionalism and assistance on this case.
Tranholm was sent to the Rockland County Jail pending sentencing, which is scheduled for May 24. Executive Assistant District Attorney Tina Guccione and Senior Assistant District Attorney Melissa Robustello prosecuted the case.
