Lowey Supporters Post Controversial Anti-Day Flyers
Day's family hurt by anti-semitic accusations, Lowey insulted by accusation that she had anything to do with it

A Facebook post from Chris Day, who is challenging longtime U.S. Rep. Nita Lowey for the 17th District seat in Congress, gives details of a set of campaign flyers he says were posted recently at local Hasidic synagogues.
Day’s wife Jenn also sent a letter to supporters about the posters Nov. 1.
“Not only is she attacking my husband, but my family is Jewish. I can’t even tell you how horrible today has been,” she wrote.

The Lowey campaign put out a statement from the Congresswoman Nov. 2 on Facebook:
“At the New City Jewish Center Political Breakfast this morning, I assured Chris Day that my campaign had absolutely nothing to do with recent false attacks against his character. As a Jewish woman who has worked to end hate and promote tolerance, I’m offended by any accusation that I would use the term “anti-Semite” lightly in an attempt to gain votes.”
