Macy's Holding Holiday Hiring Event Oct. 24

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Macy's is looking toward the holiday season. The department store chain is going to hire about 80,000 employees for the holidays, and to gear up fast it's going to hold a national hiring event Oct. 24.

That includes events at the Palisades Center in West Nyack, the Poughkeepsie Galleria, the Galleria in White Plains, the Cross County Center in Yonkers and the Jefferson Valley Mall in Yorktown. Many of the seasonal employees will work at Macy's fulfillment centers; there are also sales and support jobs.

Seasonal employees work a flexible schedule on a temporary basis, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and busy events such as the day after Thanksgiving and the day after Christmas.
