Memorial Day 2016 in Rockland County
Ceremonies, parades and historic re-enactments are scheduled throughout the holiday weekend throughout the county.

Rockland County residents are marking Memorial Day 2016 with a variety of events, activities and ceremonies.

May 27: Town of Clarkstown Memorial Day Program.Click on this hyperlink for more information.
- Placing flags on veterans' graves in Nyack will be members of American Legion Post No. 310, VFW Post 9215 and volunteers.Click here for more information.
- Veterans Memorial Association of Congers stages a parade followed by a memorial service.Click for more.
May 29: The Rockland County Veterans’ Coordinating Council holds ceremonies at two cemeteries. Click here for more info.

May 30:
- Nanuet: Service at the Nanuet Veterans Monument.Click here for more info.
- New City: The parade kicks off at 10 a.m. and is followed by a ceremony. Click here for more information.
- Nyack: Two services bracket the parade. Click here for more.
- Pearl River: The parade kicks off at 10 a.m. and ends with ceremonies. Click here for more info.
- Piermont: Memorial Day Bonfire, Sunday night at midnight.
- Sloatsburg: The annual Sloatsburg Memorial Day Parade takes place, beginning at 10 a.m. at the entrance to the Sloatsburg Community Fields. It proceeds to the World War I Monument and concludes at the Sloatsburg Cemetery. Refreshments follow at the Sloatsburg Community Fields Pavilion.
- Stony Point: Two services bracket the parade. The first is at 8:30 a.m. at the Mount Rest Cemetery. The parade kicks off at 9:30 a.m. It is followed by a service at Stony Point Town Hall, 74 E. Main St. In addition, a commemoration of fallen soldiers from all wars with a presentation in the 18th century military fashion will be held at 2:45 p.m. followed by an artillery demonstration. - Suffern: The parade held by the village and the Fromm-Maxwell-DeBaum American Legion Post No. 859 steps off at 11 a.m. from Lot A at Orange and Lafayette avenues. It proceeds to the Soldiers Monument at Washington Avenue for a ceremony. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held in Village Hall.
- West Nyack: The Memorial Day parade kicks off at 11 a.m. Click here for more info.
