Missing Rockland County Teen Found Dead

NEW CITY, NY — The body of Peter Ereifej, 18, has been located at Hook Mountain State Park in Congers, the Clarkstown Police Department reported at 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Ereifej had been missing since Friday. The New City resident was reported missing by his mother.

The cause of his death is under investigation and will be handled by the New York State Park Police, due to the incident taking place in their jurisdiction, Clarkstown police said.

Police and designated volunteers searched Rockland Lake State Park Monday. The volunteers were from Active International, a Pearl River-based company where Ereifej’s mother. Due to bad weather, police helicopters and drones were not able to launch to assist in the search.
