More Like March: Work Week Weather for Rockland County
Get the details for the second week in May.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — Look on the bright side. Lingering coolness into mid-May means spring flowers will last longer. And coolness will indeed linger across Rockland.
The chill is abnormal — temps that are 15-20 degrees below average in some cases — and it feels even chillier because April was abnormally warm.

Dayside, we'll stay in the 50s. Nighttime temps in the middle to upper 30s are likely to the north and west, with temps in the 40s toward the coast.
“Sweatshirts, jeans and heavier jackets may be needed when heading out for any evening activities or sporting events,” AccuWeather Meteorologist Brett Rathbun said.

If you jumped the gun because April was so warm and began spring gardening, make sure tender plants are covered or brought inside at night. The average date of the last frost in this region is May 1-15, which is why 'wait till Mother's Day' is traditional garden-center wisdom.
