New City Firefighters Battle Prestwick Court Blaze

NEW CITY, NY — New City Fire Engine Co. No. 1 was dispatched to a reported structure fire just after 7 p.m. Monday. Flames were seen coming from a window on the side of the home at 5 Prestwick Court.

"Quick work by the first in crews held the bulk of the fire to the room of origin, with some extension to the second floor," fire company officials said on Facebook. "Thank you to all our mutual aid departments that assisted us last night."

Clarkstown Police and the Clarkstown Fire Inspector’s Office are investigating the cause of the blaze, fire company officials said.
