New City House Badly Damaged by Fire

Five residents are receiving emergency assistance from the Red Cross.

Clarkstown police received a call about a New City residential fire at 8:03 p.m. Dec. 9. By the time they got to 46 Twin Elms Lane the home was engulfed in flames.

The New City Fire Department fought the blaze with assistance from Hillcrest, West Nyack, Congers and Haverstraw fire departments.

No injuries were reported, police said. The cause of fire is under investigation but it does not appear to be suspicious at this time.
