New City Landowner Caught Dumping Fill Into Trout Stream
It's got to come out, in a process that doesn't pollute the stream further.

NEW CITY, NY — A New City landowner was caught dumping rocks and dirt into a local trout stream, according to the New York Department of Environmental Conservation. He has been ordered to clean it up.
According to the DEC, on Oct. 22, ECOs Melissa Burgess and Will Chomicki responded to a complaint of work disturbing a stream in New City. While investigating, the ECOs found that dirt and rocks had been dropped into a Class C trout stream.
According to the DEC, the landowner admitted that he had the fill put there for what was supposed to be a “temporary” period of time.
