New City Man Accused Of Drunken Driving On The Thruway
He was stopped south of Albany at 1:25 a.m. Monday.
BETHLEHEM, NY — New York State police stopped a car for vehicle and traffic violations at 1:25 a.m. Monday on Interstate 87 south of Albany.
The driver was identified as Cristian E. Agualema, 22, of New City. Troopers concluded he was intoxicated. He was taken into custody, transported and processed at State Police offices in Albany where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.19 percent, police said.
Agualema was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, an Unclassified Misdemeanor. He was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to Bethlehem town court Sept. 20.
