New City Poet Laureate's Cross-Hudson Series Links Rockland, Mamaroneck

NEW CITY, NY — Rockland County Poet Laureate Juan Pablo Mobili is helping lead a Cross-Hudson Poetry Series designed to connect neighboring arts communities in Rockland and Westchester.

The series, called Poets of Two Shores: A Poetic Bridge Across the Hudson River, launched earlier this year. The project is a collaboration between Mobili and Village of Mamaroneck Poet Laureate Melissa Joplin Higley. The program is intended to celebrate poetry while building connections across the Hudson River and strengthening relationships between nearby arts communities.

The effort also highlights Rockland County's Poet Laureate program, which is a collaboration between County Executive Ed Day and the Arts Council of Rockland, also known as ACOR. According to the announcement, the program aims to shine a spotlight on the literary arts and their role in the county's cultural fabric.

Through his tenure as Rockland County Poet Laureate, Mobili has served as an ambassador for poetry. His work has included public readings, civic events and educational programs at libraries and community centers, the document states.
