An alleged loan shark, Joseph Ruback used threats to collect debts, the Rockland County DA said.
New City resident Joseph Ruback, a New York Giants superfan known as the “License Plate Guy,” faces a charge of grand larceny, Rockland County District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe announced Thursday.
Ruback, 46, of 9 Sylvan Lane, New City, New York, was arrested today by detectives with the Organized Crime Unit, a division of the District Attorney’s Regional Investigative Resource Center.
“The defendant used threats and intimidation to collect debts and charged usurious interest rates on outstanding debts,” Zugibe said in his announcement. “Today’s arrest sends a loud and clear message that law enforcement will keep up the pressure on those involved in this type of criminality.”
