Part of Route 45 to Close Tuesday for Emergency Road Work

The southbound lane of Route 45 between Red Schoolhouse Road and Hungry Hollow Road in Ramapo is expected to close from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 23.

Road crews will be performing emergency maintenance work, weather permitting.

Motorists should follow the posted detour and expect delays. The detour will direct southbound traffic to go east on Red Schoolhouse Road, then south on Summit Road back to Route 45.

Do use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to flaggers and all traffic control devices.

Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
