Pedestrian Reportedly Struck By Garbage Truck In Spring Valley
A stretch of Rte. 59 remained closed as the crash is investigated. The victim was seriously injured, according to initial reports.

SPRING VALLEY, NY — A pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a garbage truck in Spring Valley this morning.
The pedestrian was hit by the sanitation vehicle shortly after 9 a.m. The Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps and Spring Valley Police Department were called to the scene of the accident on S. Main St and Division Ave, according to an initial report from Rockland Fires.
The Bureau of Criminal Investigation has been called to the accident.

As of 10:21 a.m, Route 59 in Spring Valley remained closed to traffic near the accident scene near Bandido Restaurant.
According to News 12 Westchester, the accident victim is a woman in her 60s. She was taken to Westchester Medical Center for specialized treatment. She is listed in critical condition.
