Peter Kelly Keeps Cooking During Bankruptcy Reorganization

Peter X. Kelly, owner of the Xaviar's Restaurant Group, has filed for bankruptcy, The Journal News reports. Three Chapter 11 filings this month seek financial reorganization for the restaurants and himself.

His biggest creditors are the Internal Revenue Service and the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, TJN reported.

He told the newspaper the restaurants are still open and excellent and all the staff is still employed.

A leader of the farm-to-table movement in the Hudson Valley, Kelly owns local restaurants including Restaurant X and the Bully Boy Bar in Congers, and X2O Xaviars on the Hudson in Yonkers. The Blauvelt resident participates in many regional community activities, such as the Chef Peter X. Kelly Teaching Kitchen at NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital.
