Police Check, Dismiss Luring Incident in New City
The truck and its occupants have been identified and investigated.

The Clarkstown Police Department has investigated a possible luring incident which occurred at about 5:30 p.m. March 19 in New City.
A child whom police said is less than 10 years old was walking home on White Birch Court, when a passenger in a red pick-up truck reportedly asked the child “you wanna get in?”
The child became nervous and ran to a neighbor’s house to tell an adult.

The red pick-up truck and its occupants have been identified and the reason for being in the area was verified. After a thorough investigation, this incident is deemed to be unfounded, posing no danger to the child or to the community.
The Clarkstown Police Department aggressively investigates all reported cases of child luring. Police urge the public to call if any similar incidents occur in the future. “If you see something, say something.”
