Valley Cottage Killings: Police Speaking To Person Of Interest
The infant child of one of the dead women was found in the home, the Clarkstown Police Department said.
VALLEY COTTAGE, NY — The Clarkstown Detective Bureau is speaking with a person of interest regarding a double homicide in Valley Cottage Tuesday. Police said the man, whose name was not released, is not yet a suspect and is talking to police voluntarily about the deaths of two adult women found in a private residence in the rear of 104 Lake Rd.
Police said at around 7:10 a.m. Tuesday, the Clarkstown Police Department responded to the residence and found the two women, ages 63 and 27, dead from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. No information about the type of weapon used in the homicides was released by police.
The 27-year-old woman's infant daughter was also found in the home. She was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, though she had no visible injuries. The 63-year-old woman was the infant's grandmother, police said.

The names of the victims have not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Clarkstown police said a vehicle belonging to one of the victims was found in Rockland County and is being processed.

The police department is investigating the deaths, but believe it's an isolated incident and the public is not in any immediate danger.
