Portion of Route 45 Will Close July 12-17 for Construction

Motorists are advised that beginning Sunday, July 12, through Friday, July 17, a portion of Route 45 in Rockland County is expected to be closed so crews can perform maintenance activities.

Closures are planned from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting.

The southbound lane from New Hempstead Road and Williams Avenue will be closed. A full closure of both northbound and southbound lanes between Washington Avenue and Greenridge Way will also occur.

A detour will be in place, but motorists may experience delays.

Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work area and pay particular attention to workers and traffic control devices.

Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
