Rabies Warning: Seeking 2 Who Left Kitten At Hi-Tor Shelter

Rockland County health officials are trying to find a woman and girl who dropped off a kitten at the Hi-Tor Animal Care Center June 26.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — The Rockland County Department of Health asking everyone if they know a woman and girl who dropped an 8-to-9 week-old kitten off at the Hi-Tor Animal Care Center in Pomona June 26.

This family may have been exposed to rabies and members may need to seek immediate medical attention, county health officials said.

If medical treatment is started soon after rabies exposure, rabies can be prevented.

Without intervention, rabies is a fatal disease.
