Rhode Island Woman Charged with DWI
State police had been searching for a reported erratic driver on the Thruway.

After getting a report of an erratic driver on I-87 July 26, New York state police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.
Police concluded that the driver, Kim D. Rivchun, 64, of Cranston, Rhode Island, was intoxicated. They allege they also found her in possession of marijuana.
She was transported and processed at the state police offices in Tarrytown where she submitted to a blood draw to determine the alcohol content in her system. She was subsequently charged with:

- Driving While Intoxicated; a Misdemeanor
- Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 4th Degree; a Class A Misdemeanor
Rivchun was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Village of Sloatsburg Court on Aug. 31.
