Ten people have died of COVID-19 since Monday, according to county health officials.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — Rockland County reported 10 more deaths from COVID-19 between Monday and Thursday, bringing its total for 2020 to 771.

At least 3,862 coronavirus deaths were reported Wednesday in the United States, according to data from The Washington Post. This marks the first time the single-day coronavirus death toll has gone above 3,500.

There are currently 79 people hospitalized in Rockland with confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19. That's down from 99 cases as of Dec. 28 but still higher than at the beginning of the month, when the county reported 53 COVID-19 hospitalizations.
