Rockland Duo Sentenced For Brutal Winter Carjacking In New City
They beat, slashed and stabbed their victim before driving off, leaving him covered with blood in the snow.
NEW CITY, NY — The Rockland County duo who beat a man, stole his car and left him for dead in the snow in February 2021 have been sentenced.
Dwayne Hicks lured the victim to a residence in New City where he and Tnaiya Williams viciously attacked him.
They forced him to strip naked, stole his personal belongings, including the keys to his car, and then beat him with a baseball bat, belts, and their hands, and repeatedly slashed and stabbed him with a large knife before driving off in his car, prosecutors said.

The victim ultimately fled, after being left, naked and covered in blood, in a pile of snow.

Hicks, of Spring Valley, and Williams, of New City, were arrested a week later and faced federal charges: one count of conspiracy to commit carjacking, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, and one count of carjacking, which carries a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison. Williams, 27, pleaded guilty and was sentenced June 24 by Judge Cathy Seibel in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York to 44 months in prison plus 3 years of supervised release, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
