Hudson Valley Man With History Of Sex Crimes Accused Again
Accusations go back almost 20 years and involve girls, boys and a sleeping woman on an international flight to Newark airport.

NEW CITY, NY — Yoel Oberlander, a Level 2 sex offender on the New York State registry, has been accused of sex abuse again. The Monsey man is accused of improperly touching a 15-year-old boy's genitals in June in Rockland County.
The 39-year-old's profile on the New York Sex Offender Registry details one crime and conviction in New York, in 2002. The victim was an 11-year-old girl, a stranger. The offense is listed as: Sexual Abuse 2nd: Sexual Contact With Person Less Than 14 Years Old. He received a sentence of six months probation.
In 2012 he was accused of molesting several boys at an Orthodox summer camp near South Fallsburg, NY. No evidence of abuse was found, and he was charged with a misdemeanor, trespassing, according to the Times of Israel.

He was arrested in 2016 after an airplane flight from Israel to Newark. He was accused of repeatedly touching the breast and thigh of the sleeping woman he was sitting next to during the flight, the Times of Israel reported.
He served time in prison and was released under supervision. He lives at 52 West Maple Ave., Monsey, New York 10952, according to the New York Sex Offender Registry. He is not on the New Jersey Sex Offender Internet Registry.

After his arraignment Tuesday on the charges from June, Oberlander was held in federal custody in New Jersey on accusations of violating his supervised release, The Journal News reported.
The new charges he faces in New York are third-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors.
