Shared from New Rochelle, NYCostco Raises Minimum Wage for Workers
There are four stores in the lower Hudson Valley—in New Rochelle, Port Chester, Yonkers and Nanuet—and one more is on the way.

Costco workers will see their minimum wage raised by $1.50 per hour.
According to an article at bloomberg.com, the wholesale club will begin paying its workers at least $13 to $13.50 per hour, the company told analysts in a conference call Thursday.
That figure is up from $11.50 to $12 per hour.

Company officials said it will also give its highest paid employees, making $22.50 per hour, a 2.5 percent raise.
Bloomberg said retailers are feeling pressure to raise wages because unemployment has fallen below 5 percent.

In the lower Hudson Valley, Costco has stores in New Rochelle, Port Chester and Yonkers in Westchester County and Nanuet in Rockland County.
The retailer got town approval last year to open a store in Yorktown. Developers said it could open by early 2017, according to tapinto.net.
