Auto Sales Employee Injured In West Nyack Shooting: Police

Police say at this point, they believe the shooting was a customer/employee dispute.

WEST NYACK, NY – An employee at a used car shop was shot and injured Saturday afternoon in what police believe was a customer/employee dispute.

Clarkstown police responded to Youbs Auto Sales at at 357 Route 59 in West Nyack around 3:15 p.m. Police said a 37-year-old employee was shot in his torso area and and taken to the ER. The victim was taken for surgery.

Police said that at this point in the investigation, they believe the shooting was the result of a dispute between a customer and employee.

The suspect was described by police as a black male wearing a dark colored ball cap with a beard and glasses. He is believed to have fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.

"If anyone was in the area of the Rt 59 Car Wash, Youbs Auto Sales or the general vicinity, we ask that you call the Clarkstown Police Department at 845-639-5800 or send an anonymous text to TIP411 @rocklandcoda," police said in a press release.
