Don't Miss: Carry the Load Rally May 1 in Congers

The East Coast route for the memorial walk carrying the American flag from West Point to Dallas passes through Clarkstown.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — The Carry the Load Relay was conceived to bring awareness to the true meaning of Memorial Day. The East Coast route begins at West Point Cemetery and goes through Rockland County on its way to Dallas Texas. The 2,100-mile walk includes a flag-passing event in Congers May 1.

Carry The Load is a non-profit dedicated to providing active, meaningful ways to honor and celebrate the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes — military, law enforcement, firefighters and first responders.
What started as a mission to restore the true meaning of Memorial Day has broadened to include more than just our military heroes and more than just the one holiday.
