Save the Date: Troop 97's Annual Pancake Breakfast
Here's a riddle—What food continues to feed people after it has been eaten? A Troop 97 New City pancake!

Troop 97’s eighth annual Pancake Breakfast/Raffle will be held March 29 at the Street School in New City. Again this year the community beneficiary is People to People, Rockland County’s largest food pantry.
Since the event was inaugurated, a brainchild of Paula Ridge and Dan Weisberg, the breakfast has always raised funds for a community charity as well as for the troop.
The first year, the beneficiary was the New City Ambulance Corps and the motto was “A Community Drive to Keep People Alive.”

Every year local businesses and scouting families donate tons of items for the raffle.
The scouts themselves do the “heavy lifting” for this event, helping to secure donations, pre-selling tickets to the breakfast and acting as servers, greeters and as cooks’ assistants. The scouts understand the importance of the fundraising aspect of the breakfast, both for the Troop to continue its vital program and the support that is given to People to People, troop volunteers said.
