Scissor-Wielding Robbers Menace Victim In Spring Valley: Police
Three teenagers are facing charges, according to police.
SPRING VALLEY, NY — A robbery victim was able to outwit a trio of thieves who wanted to get more money out of him last week.
Detective Sgt. Randy DiPaolo said three people have been arrested for the March 19 incident.
According to police, the victim entered the suspects’ vehicle, and then scissors were held to his throat.

The suspects took the victim’s cellphone and about $10 cash. They attempted to transfer money using applications on the victim’s phone, but were only able to successfully send $6 through the victim’s Cash App account, police said.
“With the suspects not being satisfied with the amount of money received, the victim convinced the suspects to release him under the pretense of retrieving his physical bank card from his residence,” police said.

The victim got out of the vehicle and went into his apartment, where he called police. Arriving officers found and stopped the three suspects, including one adult and two juveniles.
The adult, Dennis Osei, 19, of New City, was charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery, second-degree menacing, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Osei was arraigned in the Village of Spring Valley Justice Court, and he was remanded to the Rockland County Jail.
The juveniles, both age 17, were charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree robbery. They were arraigned in the Rockland County Youth Part of Superior Court and released on their own recognizance.
