Sen. Carlucci Hosts Facebook Town Hall on Substance Use Disorder

Carlucci partners with area providers to discuss prevention, treatment and recovery.

(New City, NY) Senator David Carlucci (D- Rockland/Westchester) will host a virtual town hall on substance use disorder.

In response to COVID-19, New York State has improved access to remote addiction services, but more needs to be done to support individuals struggling with substance use disorder.

Senator Carlucci , a member of the Senate’s Joint Task Force on Opioids, Addiction and Overdose Prevention, has been working to address substance abuse from all angles with a large emphasis on treatment.

Behavioral health clinics and substance abuse clinics across the state are struggling with reimbursement rates that have not changed in ten years, and this is crippling services for those in need, including, some of the state's most vulnerable citizens. To address the problem, Carlucci sponsors legislation to create a work-group to study the Ambulatory Patient Group Rates and commercial insurance rates, in order to elevate them to support needed services.
