UPDATE Snow Changes Rockland School Schedules Thursday

The National Weather Service warned of slippery roads.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — With a mixture of light rain and snow falling across the region Thursday morning and temperatures dropping below freezing, school districts across Rockland County have announced 2-hour delays or remote learning days.

The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement early Thursday warning motorists to anticipate slippery travel and use extra caution. The NWS said the snow will continue through the rest of the morning commute, tapering off late this morning. Snowfall accumulations around an inch are expected. Roads may become snow-covered, especially on untreated surfaces. Any standing water or snow that initially melted could freeze.

  • Clarkstown: CLOSED
  • East Ramapo: remote learning, all afternoon activities canceled
  • Nanuet: CLOSED
  • North Rockland: CLOSED
  • Nyack: 2-hour delay
  • Pearl River: 2-hour delay
  • Rockland BOCES: CLOSED
  • South Orangetown: 2-hour delay
  • Suffern: remote learning day
