According to prosecutors, Alvarado-Jimenez on July 19, 2025 got into a dispute with a colleague about their shared work vehicle.
Prosecutors said Alvarado-Jimenez retrieved a revolver and fired two shots into the vehicle, which was parked and unoccupied. He then left, retrieved an AR-15 style rifle, returned and fired additional rounds at the vehicle, according to prosecutors.
“Approximately two of the discharged rounds from the rifle traveled through the vehicle, and into nearby occupied apartments,” the district attorney’s office said.
No one was injured during the incident, according to police.
Police in July said two of the bullets entered nearby apartments “where children were playing,” which placed them in “grave risk of death.”
Alvarado-Jimenez left and disposed of the weapons in a water body in Bowline Point Park in Haverstraw. Spring Valley police arrested him about two days later.
The New York State Police’s Under Water Recovery Team found the firearms used in the shooting, police said.
