Strong Thunderstorms Possible Today in the Hudson Valley
The National Weather Service says we may see some severe weather today. Here are the latest details in the updated weather forecast.

The heatwave will break later today as thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening in the Hudson Valley. Some of the storms could be strong and possibly severe, which has led the National Weather Service to issue Hazardous Weather Outlooks for the mid- and lower Hudson Valley. Today also will be our last 90 degree day this week.
"We’ll still heat up on Tuesday… with highs likely cracking 90° one final time," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.
The NWS says this for Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties:

There is a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the region in a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms, with the main threat being gusty winds. Heavy rainfall is also possible with any thunderstorm, which may lead to minor flooding of urban and poor drainage areas....There is a chance for thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday.
And the NWS says this for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester:
Scattered thunderstorms are forecast for this afternoon and evening in association with a cold frontal passage. A few storms may become strong, possibly severe, with strong to damaging winds being the
primary threat.
