Suspect Arrested In Shooting At Main Street Barber Shop That Wounded 1

RAMAPO, NY — An arrest has been made in a weekend shooting at a Main Street barbershop.
The Ramapo Police Department says that on Friday, around 10:30 p.m., officers responded to the Veloz Barbershop, on North Main Street, after receiving a report of a shooting.
At the scene, police found a 59-year-old man with a gunshot to the abdomen. The victim was treated at the scene by Rockland Paramedics and Spring Hill Ambulance, and then taken to Westchester Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition.

After canvassing the area, the suspect, 50-year-old Stanley Etienne, of Ramapo, who fled the scene in a vehicle, was found by a Rockland County Sheriff's Office patrol unit on West Eckerson Road. Ramapo Police Department officers took Etienne into custody. The Spring Valley Police Department and the New York State Police assisted at the scene.
Ramapo Police Department detectives and patrol officers continued the investigation overnight, leading to the recovery of the vehicle used by Etienne and the firearm used in the incident, authorities said. The Rockland County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted with scene processing.

Etienne was charged with second-degree attempted murder; first-degree assault; first-degree reckless endangerment; and criminal use of a firearm.
He was arraigned Saturday afternoon by a judge who set bail at $750,000 cash, $900,000 bond, or $1,000,000 partially secured bond. Etienne was remanded to the Rockland County Jail pending a future court appearance.
