Thiells Motorcyclist Dies in Crash on Route 202
A left turn into his path caused the accident, state police said.
New York State Police are investigating a fatal car vs. motorcycle accident which occurred at 7:30 PM at the intersection of Route 202 and Thiells Mt Ivy Road in Haverstraw.
A 2002 Suzuki motorcycle operated by Alberto Rivera of Thiells (44) of Thiells, N.Y. was traveling westbound on Route 202. A 1999 VW Passat operated by Jonathan Kaufman of Monsey was eastbound on Route 202.
Kaufman, 47, made a left turn onto Thiells Mt Ivy Road into the path of the motorcycle, police said.

The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Passat, and Rivera was thrown from the bike.
The 44-year-old, who was taken to Nyack Hospital, died as a result of his injuries suffered in the accident, police said.
