Thruway Stop to Help Disabled Car Turns into DWI Charge
State police allege a New Jersey man was driving drunk.

At about 11:25 p.m. July 31, State Police stopped to render aid to a possible disabled vehicle on I-87.
The driver of the vehicle, Angel Y. Rueda-Calva of Newark, NJ was found to be intoxicated. The 32-year-old was transported and processed at SP Tarrytown, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.10 percent. Rueda-Calva was charged with:
- Driving While Intoxicated, Unclassified Misdemeanor
Rueda-Calva was turned over to a sober third party and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Clarkstown Court on Aug. 19.
