Thunder First then Arctic Air: Work Week Weather in New City

We'll be on a roller coaster this week. Here are the details for Clarkstown

NEW CITY, NY — Rain and even some thunder kick off the return to school and work. Hump day will be dry and mild, but then the wolf of winter returns.

"We’ll see the winds shift out of the NW on Wednesday, which will gradually usher in some colder, Canadian air late on Wednesday," said Bill Potter from Hudson Valley Weather. "That will set up a 5-day period of below average temperatures for our area."

As the cold air pushes into the Northeast on Thursday and Friday, there is the chance for some moisture to be drawn up from the South, bringing the chance for some snow showers, said Alex Sosnowski, AccuWeather senior meteorologist. Around New York City, high temperatures may struggle to get much past the freezing mark this weekend.
