Town Of Clarkstown Honors Firefighter Lost On 9-11
John Daniel Marshall was 35 when he died. A resident of Congers, he worked at Ladder 27, near where his father served as a police officer.
CONGERS, NY — The Town of Clarkstown held a street dedication ceremony on Saturday morning to honor FDNY Firefighter John Daniel Marshall who was lost on September 11, 2001.
The gathering and street dedication took place on the corner of Old Haverstraw Road and Westview Ave.
Firefighter John Daniel Marshall (FDNY‚ Engine 23) was just 35 when he died. A resident of Congers, Marshall worked at Ladder 27‚ near where his father had served as a police officer, according to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (firehero.org). He was doing a rotation at Engine 23 on September 11. Marshall is survived by his wife and two children.

The town thanked the FDNY ceremonial unit for their assistance, as well as the Clarkstown Police Department, Congers Fire Department and other local volunteer fire departments.
