Transit Schedules for Christmas and New Year’s Week in Rockland

Since the legal holidays of Christmas and New Year’s Day are observed on the next two Mondays, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2, Rockland's public transportation schedules will be modified that week, first with early getaway service, then with actual and legal holiday changes.

On those Mondays, Transport of Rockland (TOR) and TAPPAN ZEExpress (TZx) buses operate Saturday schedules and TRIPS paratransit buses operate ADA-only service.

On both Sundays, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, Transport of Rockland (TOR) operates regular Sunday service, TAPPAN ZEExpress (TZx) does not operate and TRIPS paratransit operates ADA-only service. Here's the entire schedule:

Fridays, Dec. 23 & Dec. 30, with early getaway service:

• TOR, TZx and TRIPS buses operate regular weekday service; plus, a TZx bus will meet an early getaway Hudson Line train departing Grand Central at 3:11 p.m. and arriving Tarrytown at 3:47 p.m. A TZx bus will also meet the train arriving at 6:43 p.m.

• Coach USA’s Rockland Coaches operates a normal weekday schedule.

• Coach USA Express buses from the Exit 14 Park & Ride lot operate regular service in the mornings. Early-
getaway buses from 56th St. & 5th Ave. are added at 2:00 and 2:30 p.m. and from Wall Street at 2:30 p.m. Regularly scheduled trips that not operating are Midtown departures at 5:10 and 5:30 p.m. and a Wall Street departure at 5:20 p.m.

• Coach USA Shortline between Suffern and Manhattan operates regular service.

• Monsey Trails commuter buses operate regular service.

• Clarkstown Mini Trans and Spring Valley Jitney operate regular service.

• Metro-North Hudson Line operates early-getaway service beginning at noon, with trains added and some trains combined. A regular weekday evening schedule resumes after 8:15 p.m.

• NJT Pascack Valley and Main/Bergen Lines operate regular Friday service.

• The Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry operates an early-getaway trip from Ossining at 4:01 p.m., connecting with Hudson Line trains departing Grand Central at 2:51 and 3:11 p.m. The 7:20 p.m. ferry from Ossining will not operate.

Saturdays, Dec. 24 and Dec. 31:

• TOR, TZx, TRIPS and other transit systems serving Rockland operate regular Saturday service.

• On December 24th, Metro-North operates regular Saturday service. On December 31st, New Year’s Eve, regular Saturday service with extra inbound afternoon and evening service. Late-night outbound service also operates. The latest TZx bus connection to Rockland departs Tarrytown at 12:48 a.m. Sundays, December 25th and January 1st:

• TOR operates Sunday service on routes #59, 91, 92, 93 and Loops 1, 2 and 3; no service on TOR routes 94, 95 or 97.

• TRIPS paratransit buses operate ADA-only service.

• TZx, Coach USA Exit 14 Express, Clarkstown Mini-Trans and Spring Valley Jitney buses do not operate.

• Coach USA Rockland Coaches operates Sunday service and Coach USA Shortline buses operate holiday service.

• Monsey Trails commuter buses operate holiday service.

• Metro-North trains operate modified Sunday service.

• NJ Transit trains operate weekend service.

• The Haverstraw - Ossining ferry does not operate.

Mondays, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2:

• TOR and TZx operate Saturday service; TOR 95 and 97 do not operate. TZx buses make regular Saturday connections to trains at Tarrytown station.

• TRIPS paratransit buses operate ADA-only service.

• Clarkstown Mini Trans and Spring Valley Jitney buses do not operate.
