Valley Cottage Firefighter Injured In Basement Blaze
The 24-year-old was taken to Westchester Medical Center.
VALLEY COTTAGE, NY — A house fire at 460 Storms Road was called in at 9:10 p.m. Monday. Responding officers from the Clarkstown Police Department saw heavy smoke coming from the basement.
Police confirmed with the homeowner that the house was unoccupied.
As members of the Valley Cottage FD were working to extinguish the blaze, one firefighter was injured. Ryan Ebner, 24, suffered burns and smoke inhalation requiring him to be transported to Westchester Medical Center for treatment.

Several fire and ambulance companies responded to assist, including Congers, Central Nyack, Nyack, West Nyack and Congers Ambulance, Rockland Fires reported on Facebook. Nanuet covered for Valley Cottage.
The Clarkstown Detective Bureau is investigating the cause of the fire.
