Warwick Man Faces Charges After Thruway Road Rage Incident in Clarkstown

One motorist assaulted another at Exit 14.


State Police headed to the Exit 14 off ramp on Interstate 87 at 8 a.m. Nov. 10 for a report of a fight in progress.

When the troopers arrived they located the man who had reported being assaulted by another motorist.

The alleged assailant had fled before police arrived.

Witnesses at the scene were able to give police a description of the suspect and the license plate of the vehicle he was driving. Police identified as David E. Desantis, 42, of Warwick, NY.

Desantis voluntarily surrendered himself at State Police offices in Tarrytown.

He was charged with Assault 3rd degree, a class A misdemeanor, and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, a class A misdemeanor. Desantis is due in Clarkstown Court Dec. 3.
