HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The winter storm that brought blizzards to the Plains and deadly tornadoes to the South will continue to drop rain and a little more snow on the Hudson Valley before departing Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service issued a new hazardous outlook Friday for Western Dutchess County: "A rain and snow mix this morning will transition to mainly snow for late today into tonight. A light accumulation is possible and some surfaces may become slippery, allowing for locally slick travel."

"As of Friday morning, heavy rain was falling in low elevation areas ... while snow was being reported in higher elevations, like the Berkshire Mountains in western Massachusetts," wrote Allison Finch, AccuWeather digital journalist.
