Woman Stabbed In Eye In Spring Valley; Suspect Arrested: PD

A 40-year-old Spring Valley man is in custody, according to police.

SPRING VALLEY, NY — A woman was stabbed in the eye Thursday morning, and a local man is now facing multiple charges, according to police.

Det. Matthew Galli said police responded Thursday around 10:30 a.m. to 53 Sneden Place West after receiving a report of a stabbing.

Officers found the victim suffering from a stab wound to her right eye, police said.

Spring Hill Ambulance personnel rushed the woman to Westchester Medical Center.

After police broadcasted a description of the attacker, a patrol officer saw the man and took him into custody.

Oniel James, 40, of Spring Valley, was charged with assault with intent to cause serious injury, second-degree assault, and criminal possession of a weapon. James was arraigned and then remanded to the Rockland County Jail, police said.
