Work on Rte 202 Dec. 7-11: Expect Delays
Between Route 9W and Bridge Street in Haverstraw

Motorists are advised that beginning Monday, Dec. 7, through Friday, Dec. 11, Route 202 between Route 9W and Bridge Street in the town of Haverstraw, Rockland County, is expected to be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., while crews perform construction activities, weather permitting. From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. one lane will open with alternating traffic directed by flaggers.
A signed detour around the closure will be in place, and will direct traffic to use Route 9W, West Railroad Avenue, and Bridge Street. As necessary, local traffic will be allowed between the signed detour, but not through the closure at the intersection of Gurnee Avenue and Westside Avenue.
Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
