Yonkers Man Dead in Sept. 1 Thruway Crash
State police said the motorcyclist rear-ended two cars.

State police say a Yonkers man died after an accident Tuesday on the New York Thruway in Tuxedo.
State police were called to I-87 at about 3:16 p.m. Sept. 1 on a report of a collision on I-87 between a vehicle and a motorcycle.
In fact, the crash involved a car, a truck and a motorcycle.

Police said their investigation revealed that the operator of a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle, Jason Vanterpool, 37 of Yonkers, NY struck the rear of a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer, continued northbound then striking the rear of a 2016 Subaru, and was then ejected from his motorcycle.
Vanterpool was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet Trailblazer, Ada L. Wright, 68 of Bennington, VT was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital to be evaluated.
The driver of the Subaru, Brandon Santiago, 17 of Warwick, NY was uninjured.
The accident and investigation caused delays on the northbound Thruway for several hours.Â
